A woman died following a fire in her Dundalk apartment Tuesday night, the Baltimore County Fire Department said Wednesday.
Lillian Lyman Lindeman, 59, who lived in the first-floor apartment in the 2800 block of Dunlawn Court where the fire broke out, was pronounced dead at the scene after unsuccessful attempts to revive her, the Fire Department said.
Engine 7 and other east-side crews were called about 9:40 p.m. to the fire, and a neighbor who reported the fire was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.
Firefighters found Lindeman unconscious in the living room of the smoke-filled apartment, the department said.
An investigation found that the fire began “when smoking materials ignited combustible items,” and the fire and smoke damage was limited to Lindeman’s apartment.
Relatives of Lindeman could not be reached for comment at a number listed for her Wednesday.
