Police spokeswoman Cpl. Cathy Batton said the 23-year-old victim has not been identified because he was not interviewed because of his medical condition.

She said detectives have not determined a connection between Fields and the victim, nor a motive. She said the stabbing occurred outside.

Fields, of the 5900 block of Falkirk Road in the Ramblewood neighborhood, already faces multiple drug-related charges in Baltimore County, including possession with intent to distribute, online court records show.

He was previously charged in Baltimore with attempted murder in December 2009, and was found guilty of second-degree assault in that incident. His entire five-year sentence was suspended.

About an hour earlier, police said a man was stabbed around 5:20 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Perring Parkway and Hillsway Avenue in Towson. Batton said she did not have additional details about the incident Friday.
