The death of a Dundalk woman whose body was found at the Wheelabrator trash incineration facility has been ruled a homicide, Baltimore police said Wednesday.
Nicole Marie Torain, 34, had last been seen about 3 p.m. Saturday on the 3500 block of Elmley Ave. in the city's Belair-Edison neighborhood, police said. She lived on the 700 block of Peach Orchard Lane.
Baltimore homicide detectives are working with Baltimore County investigators, said Det. Jeremy Silbert, a spokesman for Baltimore police.
Torain's body was discovered at the Annapolis Road incineration facility early Monday afternoon, but she was not identified until Tuesday morning, said Cpl. John Wachter, a spokesman for the county police department.
Silbert said officers from the Southern District went to the facility about 12:30 p.m., and employees directed them to a woman's body inside. There were no obvious signs of trauma, he said.
Silbert would not comment on how Torain might have been killed.
