Baltimore County police say tactical officers responded to a neighborhood just south of White Marsh early Tuesday because responding officers were concerned for the community's safety when they went to apprehend a man wanted for first-degree assault.
Officers with the Warrant Apprehension Task Force responded to the 5000 block of Leasdale Road in Rosedale at 7:09 a.m. for a report of a wanted subject, identified as Adrian Reed Akins, 37. They called for the tactical unit because they could tell that someone was in the home, but no one would answer the door, police said.
Akins came out of the home just before 9 a.m. and surrendered to police.
The neighborhood of town homes is located just off Franklin Square Drive, which runs parallel to Interstate 95.
