Baltimore Co. firefighters battle two blazes in Randallstown

Baltimore County firefighters battled fires at two homes in Randallstown early Thursday.

A fire reported at 3:16 a.m. in the first block of Kentbury Court, near Lyons Mill Road, was brought under control by 4 a.m. Extensive damage to the two-story home made it uninhabitable and displaced 16 people, who escaped without injury. The Red Cross is assisting the residents with shelter, clothing and food.

The second call came at 5:30 a.m. from the 3600 block of Waterwheel Square, south of Liberty Road. Firefighters rescued one person, who was trapped on the second floor of the single-family home. The victim was taken to an area hospital with a hand injury. The fire, which was under control by 6 a.m., damaged the entire first floor of the residence.

Both fires remain under investigation.
