Multiple people injured in two-alarm Dundalk fire

Two residents and a firefighter were injured in a two-alarm fire in a Dundalk apartment complex Friday night, Baltimore County fire officials said.

Several people were trapped on balconies and 10 in total were rescued from the fire, which was reported shortly before midnight in the 1600 block of Four Georges Court, the fire department said. Fire and smoke was visible from a ground-level apartment in the back of the complex when firefighters arrived.

One resident was hospitalized with serious injuries and smoke inhalation, while the firefighter suffered from smoke inhalation that was not expected to be life-threatening, the fire department said.

Eighteen people were displaced from 12 apartments, and the Red Cross is assisting them. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but the fire department said smoke detectors were working in the apartments.
