A tractor trailer and car collided, causing the truck to hit the back of a house near Perry Hall Thursday shortly before 7:40 a.m., Baltimore County police said.

Police said the BGE truck was headed south on Honeygo Boulevard, near Cross Road, when a Hyundai Sonata on Cross Road made a left turn onto Honeygo. After the truck hit the car, it veered off of the road, and struck a house that backed up to Honeygo Boulevard. The Hyundai then struck a Nissan Maxima that had been traveling north on Honeygo Boulevard.

The driver of the Maxima and two passengers were not injured, police said. Police said the truck driver, 61, had been trapped but was extricated by firefighters. He declined to be transported to a medical facility. The 60-year-old male driver of the Hyundai Sonata was taken to Franklin Square.

Police said the driver of the Sonata was at fault.

Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter said there were people inside the home but they were not injured. The crash caused minor structural damage to the home, police said. Building inspectors were responding to survey damage at the house.

Earlier versions of the story misidentified which driver was taken to the hospital due to incorrect information from Baltimore County police. The driver of the Hyundai Sonata was taken to the hospital.
