A 21-year-old Baltimore man has been arrested in connection with a home invasion that left two senior citizens injured Thursday afternoon in Owings Mills, police said Friday.

Wesley John Moore Jr. is charged with home invasion, armed robbery, and other charges, according to Baltimore County police. He was being held without bail at the county detention center.

Police say they went to the couple's home on the 9900 block of Middle Mill Drive about 4:20 Thursday and found a man and woman, both 76, with head injuries.

The woman told police she answered a knock at the door, and a man started striking her with what appeared to be a handgun, and then pushed her into a closet near the door.

When her husband came to see what was happening, the man hit him on the head several times with the weapon – which broke -- and demanded keys to his Lexus, police said. But once the man had the keys, he could not start the vehicle, and fled on foot.

Investigators found a broken airsoft gun in a wooded area near the home.

Police said they located Moore near the scene and arrested him.
