Seven students were arrested Tuesday after multiple fights broke out in the cafeteria at Overlea High School, Baltimore County police say.
The students, all male, range in age from 16 and 19, police said. They face charges including disorderly conduct and second-degree assault.
Three students were taken to the hospital after an officer trying to break up the fights used pepper spray, police said.
The fights broke out shortly before noon, and the school resource officer at Overlea called for help. Multiple police units responded, they said.
Investigators believe the fights came after a continuing dispute between students, but have not determined the exact cause. School and police officials continue to investigate.
