The driver, Nicholas Alexander Long, 22, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, officials said. A hospital spokeswoman said that by Monday afternoon Long was not a patient at the hospital. Police said they believe alcohol contributed to the accident.

The second passenger, Damion Wagner, whose age was not known by police, was also severely injured in the accident and taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center. He was in critical but stable condition Monday afternoon, said hospital spokeswoman Cindy Rivers.

The car was heading south on Earls Road near Ebenezer Road when it ran off the west side of the street and hit a utility pole.

Although Aull was wearing his seatbelt, he was ejected from the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr.
