Reward increased for tips in fatal Dundalk hit-and-run

A reward for tips has been increased in a hit-and-run that killed a 23-year-old in Dundalk this summer.

Baltimore County police said Thursday that family and friends of the victim, Keith Curtis Tawney, have raised $3,000 for a tip that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person who hit him on North Point Boulevard in August.

That is on top of a reward of up to $2,000 from Metro Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest and charges being filed.

Investigators say that on Aug. 23, Tawney was walking on a southbound lane of North Point Boulevard, south of Cove Road, about 12:50 a.m. when someone driving south hit him.

They have not released a description of the vehicle, but say it could have damage to the front end.

Police asked anyone with information to call Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
