Halethorpe homes evacuated after report of chemical odor, fire officials say; one person taken to hospital

Baltimore County fire officials evacuated homes Tuesday in the 4000 block of Fenor Road in Halethorpe after several reports were made of a chemical odor.

The smell was detected around 5:30 p.m. in homes on both sides of the street, according to Baltimore County fire officials.

One person was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to fire officials.

Crews flushed a sewer with “copious” amounts of water. Officials cleared the scene around 10:15 p.m., a fire official stated in a tweet.
