An employee at an assisted-living facility who had been charged with sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled resident in Baltimore now faces additional charges for assaulting residents at a Parkville group home.
Baltimore County police on Wednesday said they have charged Gary Toft, 63, with abuse of two adult male residents at the Creative Options assisted-living facility on Taylor Avenue in Parkville, where Toft worked as a residential counselor.
Baltimore police previously charged Toft on Sept. 23 with sexually assaulting a developmentally disabled resident at the Creative Options facility on Edna Avenue in Northeast Baltimore. A staff member reported the assault to police. During an interview with city detectives, Toft said he committed other sexual assaults in other jurisdictions.
County police said they learned about the allegations of abuse at the Parkville location on Sept. 23. Police said the abuse at the Parkville facility occurred over several months.
Toft, of the 1200 Block of Frailey Way in Baltimore, has been charged with vulnerable adult abuse, perverted practice, and additional sex offenses.
He did not have an attorney listed in online court records.
He remains at the Central Booking and Intake Facility in Baltimore City.
