A firefighter was injured while fighting a fire at a home in Lansdowne early Tuesday morning, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

As they began operations to control the fire from inside the home, a firefighter sustained an undisclosed injury and a "mayday" signal went out, the department said. A second alarm was called as the firefighter was removed from the home.

The firefighter was transported to Maryland Shock Trauma Center with non-life-threatening injuries, the department said.
