A vehicle pileup near Woodlawn Tuesday night killed one pedestrian and injured five others, Baltimore County police said.
Police were dispatched about 8:30 p.m. to the intersection of Liberty and Essex roads. Callers told police a man was struck.
Police said a man was driving a 2001 Mercedes E430 heading west on Liberty Road when he allegedly struck the adult male pedestrian that was in the center lane. The driver of the Mercedes continued west on Liberty Road, lost control and struck a 2014 Honda Accord and ran head-on into a MTA bus.
The man allegedly fled the scene on foot after the crash, police said.
The pedestrian, whose identity is pending notification to next of kin, has not been released. The driver of the Honda Accord and the driver of the MTA bus and at least three bus passengers were transported to area hospitals. An update on their condition was not immediately available Wednesday.
