Maxine Redfern, 48, filed for a protective order and divorce on Oct. 10, less than two months before Friday night, when Baltimore County police say she was killed. Arnel Redfern, 52, certified twice that he did not possess any firearms when he was served with the protective orders last month. Police say he shot at officers responding to the home on Friday, prompting authorities to return fire.
