A Dundalk woman who was found dead inside her apartment in April was killed by her son in-law, Baltimore County police announced on Friday.
Police said Cecilia Alice Brown, 53, was found dead shortly after 6 p.m. on April 27 by officers who were called to her apartment at the 600 block of North Point Road by a caller who said she had not been to work in two days.
Police on Thursday arrested her son-in-law, 42-year-old Ronnie Lee Walden Jr. who lived with her and charged him with first-degree murder.
Police spokesman Cpl. John Wachter said no motive have been determined.
Brown and Walden got into an altercation when Walden killed Brown sometime between 2:30 a.m. on April 26 and the time that police responded to the apartment, police said.
Officers found Brown's front door was locked and could see her lying unresponsive on the floor through the window. She was declared dead at the scene and an autopsy determined the cause of death was asphyxiation and blunt force trauma.
Walden is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center. He does not have an attorney listed in court records.
Walden was sentenced to 18 months in prison in July 2011 for second-degree assault, online court records show.
