Police on Thursday said the suspect went to Penn Station, and, suspecting he would be traveling north, police alerted Amtrak Police who stopped him in Delaware. He remained there Thursday awaiting extradition. Police have not yet released his name.

Police said at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officers went to a home on Nottinghill Court, where a woman said her husband had cut her with a knife, police said. He threatened to go to the school and kill their daughter. The school was placed on lockdown during a search for the man, and police officers were stationed at the school.

At 11:17 a.m., police say, the school was then placed on "alert status," which is less serious than a lockdown but is intended to secure access to the building,

Investigators found the suspect's vehicle several blocks from the home. Once they determined that he had left the area, the alert status was lifted.

The man is expected to be extradited to Maryland to face charges.
