Baltimore County police on Thursday identified a driver who died in a crash on Belair Road in Kingsville.
Police said Mario Anthony Silvestri, 87, of the 600 block of South Broadway in Fells Point, died Wednesday after his car struck a Jeep Wrangler that was making a left hand turn.
Police said the crash occurred just after 9 a.m. in the 12600 block on Belair Road near New Cut Road. Silvestri, who was driving a Ford Taurus north on Belair, stuck the Jeep, that was traveling south and attempting to turn left into a parking lot. The crash caused both pushed both vehicles into the parking lot, causing them to hit several parked vehicles.
Silvestri was taken to Franklin Square Hospital where he was declared dead. The other driver, who police did not identify, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital and is expected to survive.
The county's crash team is investigating.
