A man surrendered to authorities Wednesday after a barricade at a home in the Turkey Point area of eastern Baltimore County, police said.

County police said they went to the 2100 block of Anthony Ave., near Turkey Point Park, on Wednesday morning shortly before 11 a.m. Officers spoke to a man who told them another man had fired several shots at him during a fight, but did not strike him.

Police first believed the man was armed and walking around the neighborhood, but later discovered he was in a home on Anthony Avenue by himself.

Shortly before 3 p.m., police announced the man had surrendered after speaking with police negotiators. They said he would be taken to the hospital for an evaluation.

Police said the man will face charges in connection with the alleged assault, but his name was not released Wednesday because he had not yet been officially charged.

An earlier version misstated the day of the barricade. The Sun regrets the error.
