Runner of the Year
Kristen Malloy, Hereford
Malloy, a junior, set a record in winning the Bull Run Invitational at Hereford, and had a nearly perfect season. Malloy, also the All-Metro Runner of the Year, capped it by winning the Baltimore County Class 3A North regional title and the state title.
Coach of the Year
Tom Klein, Notre Dame Prep
He truly emphasized the team concept, which helped Notre Dame Prep win the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference title.
Klein wanted NDP to stick with "pack-style" running, and it paid off, especially in the championship race against John Carroll when the Blazers had the eighth-, 10th-, 13th-, 15th- and 16th-place finishers.

staff and area coaches. The public schools team was selected through voting by league coaches. The IAAM team is based on the top seven finishers at the league meet.
