City police investigate fatal stabbing, shooting

City police are investigating a stabbing and a shooting that claimed the lives of two Baltimore men.

In the first homicide, a woman flagged down an officer at about 5:40 p.m. Monday and directed him to a home in the 100 block of N. Poppleton St., near the new medical examiner's building in West Baltimore. The officer found a 22-year-old man, identified as Gregory Parker, outside and suffering from a single stab wound to his back.

Parker, of the 3100 block of Windsor Ave., was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he died at 6:18 p.m. Police did not give a motive; Parker did not appear to have a criminal record.

The second incident occurred about 11:25 p.m., when a patrol officer heard shots fired in the 400 block of North East Ave., in the Ellwood Park neighborhood of East Baltimore.

The officer located a 21-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the sidewalk. The victim died at Johns Hopkins Hospital at 12:25 a.m. Tuesday.

No other details about the killings have been released.
