No injuries in Lombard St. fire; traffic could be affected

Baltimore City firefighters were working to put out a fire on West Lombard Street during rush hour Thursday evening, a spokesman said.

The fire broke out around 6 p.m. in a one-story building in the 1000 block of West Lombard St. in southwest Baltimore, said fire department spokesman Cpt. Roman Clark.

No injuries were reported, he said, but the fire did create a lot of smoke.

Clark added that traffic might have been affected, saying "you have to consider apparatus on the street during rush hour."
