City police were investigating the fatal stabbing of a man Sunday night in Southwest Baltimore.

Officers responded at 10:35 p.m. to the 3100 block of Edmondson Ave., in the Franklintown Road neighborhood, for a reported aggravated assault and found the unidentified man suffering from a stab wound to his chest.

The man was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m., police said.
