City police investigate fatal shooting of woman, 24, found in Windsor Mills

A 24-year-old woman who was found shot in the head and body behind an apartment building in Northwest Baltimore died of her injuries, becoming the city's latest homicide victim, police said Thursday morning.

Officers responded shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday to the 4500 block of Westchester Road, in Windsor Mills, and found the victim lying on the grass. The apartment building is located between West Forest Park Avenue and Windsor Mill Road, near Leakin Park.

A police spokeswoman said the woman, whose identity was not immediately released, had been shot in the head and body. She was taken to Sinai Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 9:37 p.m.

Police said they had no suspects and knew of no motive.
