Firefighter suffers minor injuries in Southwest Baltimore fire

A Baltimore City firefighter suffered minor injuries after debris fell on him while fighting a two-alarm house fire in Southwest Baltimore, a spokesman said.

The firefighter was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for evaluation but his injuries are not life-threatening, said department spokesman Kevin Cartwright.

Firefighters were called just before 4:30 p.m. to Ramsay and South Pulaski streets, where heavy fire and smoke were reported inside the two-story brick rowhome. The fire intensified and spread to a neighboring home, requiring for additional resources, Cartwright said.

He said the home had some furniture in it, but he could not confirm whether it was occupied.

No other injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
