Traffic on I-95 South, near Caton Avenue, slowed during Tuesday evening's commute due to a crash and a separate, disabled tractor-trailer that temporarily closed all southbound lanes, officials said.
No injuries were reported from the crash, said Sgt. Jonathan Green, a spokesman for the Maryland Transportation Authority Police.
He said two lanes were blocked by the crash but traffic continued to crawl in the other two lanes. However, southbound traffic was later diverted off I-95 when state highway crews worked to remove another tractor-trailer that was unrelated to the crash but disabled nearby.
"It just kept snow-balling," Green said Wednesday, calling the incident "a very complicated vehicle removal."
He said cranes were used to remove the disabled trailer. All southbound lanes were reopened by 10:41 p.m.
