Baltimore City police were investigating three shootings, one of them fatal, that occurred over the weekend.

The first happened Saturday night in Central Baltimore, the second early Sunday in Southwest Baltimore, and the third on Sunday afternoon in Northeast Baltimore.

About 8:30 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. in the Old West Baltimore neighborhood for a reported shooting. They found evidence of a crime but no victim. Officers were then called to the 1400 block of Myrtle Ave., approximately a four-minute walk from the original location, where they found a 20-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the hand.

According to police, the victim had been leaving a business in the 1500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. when he was shot by an unknown man. The victim was taken to a local hospital and police expect he will recover. Police had no suspect and did not know of a motive for the shooting.

About 2:19 a.m. Sunday, police said a man was shot in the leg in the 900 block of N. Augusta Ave., in the Edmondson Village area. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

At about 2:35 p.m. Sunday, a 51-year-old man was shot in the head while sitting in the driver's seat of a vehicle in the 5700 block of Eastbury Ave., in the Frankford neighborhood, police said. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:20 p.m.
