City police report three evening shootings, one fatal

Baltimore police are investigating three overnight shootings Friday, including one that left a 30-year-old man dead.

Officers were called at 6:35 p.m. to the 800 block of West Pratt Street, where 30-year-old Raynard Benjamin was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, said Det. Kevin Brown, a police spokesman.

Several men walked up to him and shot him, fleeing in a silver Dodge 4-door pick-up truck, Brown said.

Benjamin was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for three men who were driving a Dodge pickup truck, Brown said, but he did not know the color, year or model of the vehicle.

Officers are also investigating two, nonfatal Friday evening shootings. At 9:08 p.m., police reported a 56-year-old man shot in the arm in the 1600 block of Burnwood Road. Police said he had been shot in the arm after an argument with an unknown person.

Another man was shot in the arm in the 300 Block of West Lanvale Street at 5:29 p.m., police said. Officers were called to the 1300 block of Madison Ave., but determined the shooting to be on Lanvale, but couldn't find a victim, Brown said.

A 22-year-old man later walked into a local hospital and was later identified as the victim from the Lanvale shooting. He told police he was walking towards Martin Luther King Boulevard when two men walked up and at least one began firing at him.
