One-alarm fire in downtown Baltimore

Baltimore city firefighters were on the scene of a one-alarm fire in downtown Baltimore Friday afternoon.

Chief Kevin Cartwright, spokesman for the fire department, said fire units were called out around 1:17 p.m. for a fire in a building near the corner of North Gay and North High streets.

No firefighters or civilians were injured, Cartwright said, and firefighters have "no idea what may have started the fire."

Five fire trucks were called out to the scene, as well as a medical unit, Cartwright said.
