Head-on collision in city leaves man dead, woman seriously injured

A head-on collision between two vehicles Thursday morning on Windsor Mill Road left a man dead and a woman in serious condition, according to Baltimore police.

About 1:20 a.m., a Honda Accord traveling east and a Chevy Lumina traveling west struck each other on the 5400 block of Windsor Mill Road in Franklintown. The man driving the Lumina was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he died at 2:48 a.m., police said. He was believed to be between 40 and 50 years old.

The 25-year-old woman driving the Accord was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where she was in serious condition. No other passengers were in either vehicle, police said.

As of 6:30 a.m., parts of Windsor Mill Road were still shut down as police continued their investigation.
