City police arrested a 26-year-old Randallstown man, Antonio Davis, Thursday night in the Oct. 9 killing of Daryll Hood, 22.
Police found Hood, with a gunshot wound to the head, on the 4700 block of Shamrock Ave., a block from his home in the Parkside neighborhood of northeast Baltimore just before 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 9. Hood was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:52 p.m. A Facebook page memorializing Hood displays a picture of him smiling and holding a small boy, and messages from friends expressing outrage at his loss.
Hood's killing came in a particularly violent two-day stretch in the city in mid-October. Including Hood, five men died and three others were injured in seven separate shootings over the course of a Saturday and Sunday.
Davis, of Coachman Court in Randallstown, faces first-degree murder and assault and gun charges in Baltimore City District Court. A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 28.
