City police investigate homicide, three nonfatal shootings

Baltimore police are investigating a homicide and three nonfatal shootings Saturday.

A 34-year-old man was shot to death at about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 1900 block of W. Baltimore St., said police spokesman Detective Kevin Brown. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead, Brown said.

Police have not released his identity pending notification of family.

About an hour later, an adult male who had been shot walked into an area hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Brown said. The shooting occurred in the area of North Payson Street and Walbrook Avenue in the Mondawmin neighborhood, he said.

Police reported another walk-in gunshot victim at Maryland General Hospital at about 4 a.m. An adult male was shot in his right hip at West 28th Street and Cresmont Avenue in Remington. Brown said he is expected to survive.

Just before 7 p.m., officers responded to the 1400 block of Argyle Avenue in the Upton neighborhood, where an adult male was shot in the stomach, Brown said.
