A man attempting to break into a store on York Road in North Baltimore was shot by the owner Thursday morning, police report.

Police responded around 4:45 a.m. Thursday morning to the 4600 block of York Road, on the edge of the Wilson Park neighborhood, and found the man shot in the right leg. He was transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital, and his condition is unknown.

Black Essentials, a beauty supply store, is located at the reported address of the incident.
