Funeral plans for the Baltimore City police officer killed last week in a car crash have been finalized.
Services for Baltimore City police officer Tommy Portz, killed last week in a car crash, will be held Wednesday morning at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore. A public viewing is planned Tuesday evening from 2 to 8 p.m. at Ruck Funeral Home in Towson.
Portz will lie in repose with the flag that flew during recovery operations at Ground Zero in New York, police said.
The 10-year veteran and married father of three, was pronounced dead while being taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center, after his patrol car rear-ended a parked fire truck during an emergency call. Portz is the third active officer to be killed in the past month, and the first in the line of duty since 2007.
