City police investigating two S. Baltimore killings

Police were investigating two killings in South Baltimore on Wednesday, including a double shooting in Cherry Hill that left a 24-year-old woman dead.

At about 11:45 p.m., police were called to the 2700 block of Claflin Court for a report of a shooting and found Randol Buncombe suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.

A second man, who police said was 26, was also struck, in the buttocks, but was expected to survive. Police said they were investigating robbery as a possible motive.

The shooting occurred just off Spelman Road, in the Cherry Hill Homes public housing development.

Police were also investigating the death of a man found in the 2300 block of Sidney Ave. in Westport. They received a call for assistance at 11:42 a.m. and found a man inside a home suffering from gunshot and stab wounds. Police spokesman Donny Moses said there was a large amount of blood leading from upstairs of the home to the kitchen; it was unclear whether someone discovered the man or whether he dialed 911 himself. But Moses said the man was pronounced dead just before noon, and detectives had obtained a search and seizure warrant for the home.
