Man fatally shot in Northeast Baltimore

A 28-year-old man was fatally shot in Northeast Baltimore on Wednesday night, according to Baltimore police.

An officer responding to a call for a shooting at 8:09 p.m. found the man, identified as Ardrey Murphy, in the first-floor hallway of a building in the 5500 block of Bowleys Lane in the Frankford neighborhood, police said.

Murphy was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital for treatment, but his condition worsened and he was pronounced dead at 8:40 p.m., according to police.

Police are also investigating a nonfatal shooting in Northwest Baltimore.

A 37-year-old man who had been shot in the middle of the back walked into a hospital at 10:45 p.m., police said. The incident had taken place in the 4100 block of Boarman Ave., in the Dorchester neighborhood, according to police.

He was in critical condition, police said.
