Baltimore police are investigating two nonfatal shootings in south and west Baltimore neighborhoods early Thursday morning.

A 19-year-old man was shot in the right shoulder in the 2000 block of McHenry St., police said. An officer responding to that location in the Carrollton Ridge community at about 12:09 a.m. found the victim lying in the street. The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.

The victim apparently had an argument with an unknown person that led to the shooting, said Detective Jeremy Silbert, a Baltimore police spokesman.

Also, at 1:52 a.m., a 46-year-old man was shot in the buttocks, legs and arm in the 2300 block of W. North Ave., police said.

Officers who responded to that address arrived but found no victim, Silbert said. They talked to a witness who said a man was shot but left the scene, the spokesman said. At 2:16 a.m., officers located the victim at North Dukeland Street and Elgin Avenue, Silbert said, in the Panway/Braddish Avenue neighborhood of West Baltimore.
