A Baltimore City police officer was struck by a pick-up truck while riding on a department motorcycle Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of Lombard and Howard streets.

The officer taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center for non-life threatening injuries.

A department spokeswoman said the officer was expected to be released the same day.
