Baltimore police investigating two homicides

City police said a 19-year-old man was fatally stabbed when a fight broke out among two groups of people in Northeast Baltimore.

Officers received a call after midnight for a stabbing in the 5100 block of Harford Road, between the Lauraville and Waltherson neighborhoods, and found Corey Sims suffering from a stab wound, police said. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Hospital and pronounced dead at 12:30 a.m. Police said Sims was sitting with a group of people when another group approached and they began to fight.

Detectives were also investigating the fatal shooting of an unidentified man about 4 a.m. in the 5100 block of Williston St. in Southwest Baltimore. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and was not identified pending notification of his family, police said.
