Baltimore Police have identified a man fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in West Baltimore's Gilmor Homes.

An officer found Israel James Johnson Jr., 19, just inside a home in the 1600 block of Bruce Court with multiple gunshot wounds at about 1:08 p.m., police said.

He was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:02 p.m.

The incident was the 10th killing in four days, which may be the deadliest stretch since 2007. But violent crime rates are down overall, police say.

Police are also investigating the case of a man who was shot in the face. He walked into Johns Hopkins Hospital at 3:58 a.m. Wednesday morning, according to police.

No further details were available in that incident.
