Baltimore police were investigating four shootings Saturday, two of them fatal.
In the first incident, a 22-year-old man was shot in the head in the 2600 block of E. Monument St. at 12:28 a.m., police spokesman Jeremy Silbert said.
Eastern District officers on routine patrol one or two blocks away heard the gunshots and responded. The man was taken to a local hospital and was in "very critical" condition, Silbert said.
Less than an hour later, at 1:17 a.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 400 block of N. Rose St., also in East Baltimore. They found an 18-year-old man on the sidewalk who had been shot in the head. The man was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:25 a.m.
Police were investigating the possibility that those two shootings were related because they took place "in the same vicinity," Silbert said.
About 1:15 a.m. in the Brooklyn area, police responding to a report of shots fired found a 30-year-old man suffering from several gunshot wounds in the 4100 block of Pennington Ave., Silbert said. The man was taken to Harbor Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:46 a.m.
On Saturday afternoon, a man was shot in the back about 3 p.m. in the 5900 block of Glen Falls Ave. in Northeast Baltimore. Further information on that shooting was not available.
