A dog was attacked by a man with a machete Tuesday in North Baltimore.
The man attacked a dog that was inside a neighbor's yard, just before 6 p.m., said Agent Donny Moses, a Baltimore City police spokesman. The suspect lives several houses down from the dog's owner in the 3000 block of Wylie Avenue, according to police.
The man has not been charged, Moses said. He was taken to an area hospital for a psychiatric evaluation and has been known to have a history of mental illness, Moses said.
The dog – police did not say what kind -- survived and was treated for its injuries.
