Eight light trail passengers were taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a train collided with a Ford Taurus in Mount Vernon, a Maryland Transit Administration spokeswoman said.
The passengers were taken to Maryland General Hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening, spokeswoman Jawauna Greene said.
The crash, involving the train and one car, occurred just after 2 p.m. in the 600 block of N. Howard St.
Greene did not have information on the driver of the car or a cause for the crash. She said light rail service has resumed in that area.
MTA and city police were investigating.
