Police investigate whether 2 afternoon shootings are related

Baltimore City Police said today that two adult males were shot in separate locations, both around 2 p.m., and police were attempting to determine whether the shootings were related.

In one case, an adult male was shot in the thigh in the 3400 block of Spelman Road in Cherry Hill, according to Det. Nicole Monroe. In the second instance, an adult male walked into St. Agnes Hospital with shots to the shoulder and the hand, according to Monroe.

Monroe said she could not release the names of the victims. She said that the wounds did not appear to be life threatening in either case, and that police officers had not apprehended any suspects and did not know of motives for the shootings. Monroe said that whenever two people are reported shot in the city at around the same time, police officers try to determine whether the shootings are related, but she did not know if that was the case as of 5 p.m.
