City police are investigating the death of a man after a shooting in the city Friday night.

The man was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center for treatment after the shooting, which was reported in the 2100 block of West Fayette Street.

The identity of the victim was not released by police. A police spokesman was unable to provide a suspect or motive as of midday Saturday.
