Man found shot in E. Baltimore is city's 11th homicide of year

A man found shot several times Monday night in an East Baltimore alley died a short time later at an area hospital, according to city police.

Michael Manning, 35, of the 4800 block of York Road was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital, said Agent Donny Moses, a police spokesman. No arrest had been made in the city's 11th homicide so far this year.

Eastern District police responding to shots fired about 9:30 p.m. in the 1900 block of Aisquith St. in the Oliver community found Manning lying unconscious and face-down in the alley behind a house. Police said he was hit multiple times and that shell casings were found nearby, indicating he was shot by a semiautomatic handgun.

Metro Crime Stoppers at 410-276-8888 is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and an indictment in the slaying.
