Baltimore Sun

A pair of weekend homicides brought Baltimore's yearly murder total to 222 Saturday. The body of a 27-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds to the head was found Saturday morning near the 2400 block of Shirley Ave. in Northwest Baltimore. Police spokesman Donny Moses said officers were called about 7:15 a.m. after the body was discovered. No one in the neighborhood reported hearing gun shots; there are no suspects and no motive. Police were working to identify the victim. Shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a home in the 3300 block of Woodstock Ave. near Clifton Park with a report of a home invasion. Glen Johnson, 32, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His 34-year-old sister had sustained a superficial bullet wound to the chest. Police were told that at least four unidentified assailants forced their way into the house and then fled on foot.
