Scores, a “gentleman’s club” that opened in 2006 a short ways from Baltimore’s infamous red light district known as The Block, is rebranding as The Penthouse Club-Baltimore, the operators announced this week.
The mantle, and the pole, is passing along with the liquor license. That’s the last step in what the owners are calling a reinvention for the club, which has been considered a pricier alternative to other so-called gentlemen’s clubs in town.
A grand opening is expected in November.
The 13,000-square-foot club off the Fallsway near the state correctional complex has been renovated and will become the 10th Penthouse Club licensed or owned by Penthouse Clubs Global Licensing LLC, a subsidiary of the privately owned hospitality investment firm Kirkendoll Management LLC.
The firm has clubs in six other U.S. cities and three other countries.
A press release from the company states that Brian Shulman, co-owner of the club, believes that the name will attract new customers, including business travelers and tourists.
