City postpones closure of Baltimore-Washington Parkway for Annapolis Road Bridge demolition

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation has postponed this weekend’s planned closure of Route 295, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, for the demolition of the Annapolis Road Bridge, to allow more time for the contractor to obtain all necessary permits.

No new date has been announced for the closure, which had been planned between 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday for both north and southbound traffic between Bush Street and the Baltimore Beltway.

“We are postponing the closure of MD-295 to allow the contractor to obtain all necessary permits for additional equipment, as well as coordinate additional labor the ensure that the demolition is done as safely and quickly as possible,” Kathy Dominick, a city DOT spokeswoman, said in a statement.

A new traffic pattern is planned for mid-April that includes single lane closures near the work site through the fall of 2020. More information can be found at 295TripleBridges.com.
